On February 1, 2020 Mike Scott, Jim Almonte and Wayne Belec announced an exciting new venture between the three long-time friends and colleagues with the formation of Land Design Collaborative (LDC). Our site design and permitting firm represents and collaborates with developers, land owners, attorneys, architects and municipalities on a variety of projects ranging from single-family residential to large scale single- and multi-family market rate and affordable housing communities; educational institutions; commercial real estate projects including automobile dealerships, office, retail and manufacturing facilities; religious institutions; medical facilities; service stations; and ground mounted photovoltaic arrays. Municipal projects include master planning, public safety facilities and educational facilities, streetscape improvement projects, public parks, and municipal peer review services.
Our highly respected and talented team collaborates with a tightly knit, but expansive network of registered professionals including land surveyors, wetland scientists, hydrogeologists, traffic consultants, geotechnical engineers, LSP’s and architects. We also team with local attorneys and real estate professionals to provide clients the broad knowledge base necessary to ensure the highest and best use of their property.
With over one hundred years of combined experience, the three founding partners have been able to establish strong, trusting, and enduring relationships with developers, contractors, consultants, municipalities, and permit granting authorities. We have worked together for more than twenty years and have designed and permitted numerous signature projects throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. As owners of LDC, we are committed to assisting clients to implement their ideas through creativity and attention to detail throughout the design process. We recognize collaboration with our clients and earning and retaining their trust is the key to our clients’ success and the success of LDC.
As owners, co-workers and fellow employees, we recognize not only the value of our clients, but the importance of the office work environment. It is for this reason they have established an integrated multi-discipline design studio office environment. This promotes the mentoring of junior staff and teamwork, where each member plays a vital role in a successful project for our clients.
Since our opening, clients old and new have sought us out for new work resulting in the hiring of design staff. The excitement and response from developers, attorneys, other registered professionals, lending institutions and municipal officials has been overwhelming and very much appreciated. The comments voiced by our supporters strongly indicates that the future is bright for LDC.
